The question we are asked before any other is when. It is the right question, because in destination weddings the month decides the venue list, the budget and how many of your guests actually come.
Qatar
The season runs from late October to April. Outside those months, outdoor ceremonies are not realistic, and even evening events need serious cooling. Ramadan moves each year and should be checked against your date early, as it affects venue availability and catering.
Mauritius
May to November is dry and mild. January to March is cyclone season, and while resorts continue to operate, we do not recommend booking an outdoor ceremony then without a serious indoor alternative already contracted.
Cape Verde
The islands are workable almost year round, with November to June the most settled. August and September bring humidity and the occasional Atlantic system. Wind is a constant on the eastern islands, which matters more for florals and lighting than most couples expect.
Uganda
Two dry seasons, December to February and June to August, are the reliable windows. The rains are not continuous, but they are heavy enough that an outdoor celebration without cover is a gamble.
Kenya
The coast is best from December to March and July to October. Highland venues near Nairobi are cooler and more forgiving year round. If you are combining the wedding with safari for your guests, the dry months also give the better game viewing.
The month nobody suggests
Shoulder season, the weeks either side of peak, is consistently the best value we see. Venues are available, suppliers are not stretched across three weddings, and the weather risk is small. If your date is flexible by a fortnight, tell us. It is often worth a great deal.
